Much appreciated, that's very helpful. I guess I was asking about the other question:

In some cases it just seems to take up a lot of screen space before users can begin to see any listings. An example of the category shortcode being used as above: http://www.inmaricopa.com/obituaries/
Any suggestions on how to accomplish this would be great!
